To "Friend" or "Unfriend"??

Hello there! Finally have time to update my blog today. For my entry today, I would like to tell you a true story that happened to me recently.
I have an old friend, we go way back since High School, then University days, then we became housemates & so-called best friend even after both of us got married. We kept in touch, did some small business together and after a while both of us got so busy that we lost touch. I had my Cyber Cafe business to run and she had join a MLM business and she had became really successful. Then I started working again and got even busier that I only keep track of her latest new via Facebook.
I was really proud of her because I know that she's the kind of person that really goes all out to achieve her target. Even since we were singles, she had joined another MLM before & also became a Unit Trust agent. And she's really good at what she's doing, that when she worked with an international bank, she managed to seal big sales for her team.
Along the way, she became really successful with her recent MLM business, that she managed to bought herself a BMW. I was proud of her (sincerely!) achievements and how she managed to do it in just 2-years time.
Now, to the main story.. I had recently started to slowly become a Unit Trust agent. But I was not certified yet, so I was doing it under my friend's guidance. Being an opportunist, I called this successful friend of mine to try to sell Unit Trust to her. I know it's been a while since I called her last, but I thought it's time to patch things up and maybe keep in touch again.
I was quite surprised that when I talked to her on the phone, she sounded so cold and formal, as if I'm talking to my lawyer (business-like tone). So, I just assume that she's used to it since she's really successful and rich nowadays. So, I was going on and giving her investment suggestions and in between asked how's she's been doing and what not. At the end of the conversation, she said that she'll consider the options that I gave and will contact me should she decides to invest with me. So, fine, that's all I guess...
But, No, No, No!! Few days after the phone call, I was going thru my Facebook and thought maybe I could give her page a peek. But, to my surprise, SHE REMOVED ME FROM HER FRIENDS LIST! Or in other words, she "UNFRIEND" me! I was so shocked that I called my other old friend from school and told her the story. And another surprise was, that SHE was also REMOVED from the FRIEND'S LIST too!
I assumed that she the reason she removed me was because I was trying to sell her the Unit Trust, but apparently due to no reason at all, my other friend was removed too!
So, what does that mean? It is because that we are not as rich and as lavish as her? Or is it because we are not driving expensive car like her? Or has the money and luxury changed her? If so, it's quite sad to see that MONEY, STATUS & WEALTH indeed can change a person.
So, the morale of the story is "When you are already flying high in the sky, always remember that there's a land down below, cause you might need it to land should your wings breaks and you are falling hard on your head". So, always remember to look back and remember who you used to be and those who have mattered and befriended you regardless of who you are..
Bye for now..
